Glazing Vision is one of the only rooflight manufacturers with Sukkah offerings, if you require a Sukkah rooflight, please contact our Technical Specification team, who will be able to offer expert advice.
What Is A Sukkah Rooflight?
Glass rooflights can be used in your home to celebrate the Jewish festival of Sukkot, they are often referred to as Sukkah or Succah rooflights - They are designed to be opened manually during the festival without the use of electricity, and are designed specifically to meet the guidelines set out within the Jewish community.

Which Rooflights Can Be Manually Powered?
Our entire range of opening rooflights can be manufactured as a Sukkah unit - Our range of opening rooflights includes both hinged and sliding units, which can be operated at the touch of a button for day to day use but during the festival, the hydraulic mechanism can be isolated from your electricity supply and the rooflights can be opened using a manual pump.
As depicted in The Jerusalem Talmud, a rooflight which can be covered in thatching may be a qualified Sukkah – meaning you can celebrate within your home by surrounding your roof opening with sechach.

Sliding Sukkah Rooflights
Our most common Sukkah rooflight build is for sliding rooflights. In a recent project, we were able to install a Sliding Over Roof Rooflight, which slid completely off the roof and provided a full opening to be used during the festival period.
This was achieved through the use of a hydraulic pump, which enabled the owner to open the rooflight manually whilst still maintaining a "wow factor" sliding rooflight throughout the rest of the year.
