Designed for heritage projects, engineered for proven performance
The Conservation Pitchglaze Roof Window has been developed specifically for buildings in conservation areas, listed properties, areas of outstanding natural beauty (AONBs), and those subject to Article 4 Directions. It captures the aesthetic of traditional Victorian cast-iron roof glazing, while delivering the thermal, weathertightness and structural performance expected of a contemporary Glazing Vision roof window.
This fixed, in-plane roof window is UKCA and CE marked, with the declaration of performance and supporting test report references available on request. Integrated mullion bars are designed to replicate the characteristic look of historic roof glazing, combined with an aluminium frame powder-coated to QUALICOAT standard in Grey or Jet Black.
The Conservation Pitchglaze suits period homes, barn conversions, industrial refurbishments and heritage-inspired new builds. Whether you’re restoring an older property or designing a contemporary building with traditional cues, it offers period-correct detailing alongside modern specification.
Where many heritage rooflights are limited to smaller standard sizes, the Conservation Pitchglaze can be manufactured in larger bespoke formats. Modular configurations are also available, allowing multiple mullion bars to be evenly spaced or aligned with existing rafters and architectural features.

Frequently Asked Questions
A conservation roof window is a specialised roof window designed for conservation areas, featuring a traditional aesthetic that complies with conservation area planning restrictions. Conservation roof windows typically feature a black exterior finish and a central vertical glazing bar (known as a mullein bar) to mimic Victorian-style windows.
When installing rooflights/roof windows in a conservation area, it is important to ensure that you comply with your local planning regulations and requirements. Regulations vary by local authorities, but in general you may need to obtain planning permission in a conservation area.
Our conservation roof window has been designed to replicate the traditional Victorian aesthetic, whilst adding a modern touch through 'Sky Only Views' and slimline appearance.
A Rooflight is designed to be installed on an upstand, at a standard pitch range of 5-70 degrees, whereas a roof window is designed to be installed flush with the roof tiles at a steeper pitch range of 15-85 degrees.

No, as the FENSA certification scheme does not apply to rooflights, and does not apply if the roof window is a new addition to your property - You will require approval from Building Control if this is the case.
Lead times vary per product as they are carefully assembled and tested in-house, but your local Technical Sales Manager can advise you of our latest lead times.
